The first batch of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines College Entrance Test (PUPCET) in Sta. Mesa, Manila for the academic year 2012-2013 will finally set tomorrow, January 29, 2012, Sunday.

Expected to storm in PUP Mabini Campus are thousands of examinees hopeful to pass the admission hurdle in the largest (by population) state university.

PUPCET measures the different abilities necessary in carrying out college endeavors. High school graduates flock to apply admission to the different degree programs. Successful examinees are deserved to be called “Iskolar ng Bayan” in this largest state university in the country.

A majority of students in PUP belong to the economically-challenged families.  It has and always been a commitment of PUP to provide access to quality, sustaining, and responsive education to qualified, talented, yet underprivileged students.

PUP stands proud of its lowest tuition nailed at Php12 per unit for undergraduate courses.

PUP as one of the centers for higher education studies in the country, has hundreds of foreign students enrolled. They mostly come from China, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Ghana. (PUP website)

Based on Asian university rankings 2011 released by QS TopUniversities, there were only 14 Philippine universities included in the top list. PUP made it to the rank 13 among all Philippine universities.
